MSc in Integrated Systems and Circuits Design

For years, integrated circuits (IC, microchips) have been the key technology in many applications – from data processing to automobile electronics. Yet, this evolution is not coming to an end and Very Deep Submicron (VDSM) fabrication technologies allow us to integrate even more complex systems.

Career

ICDS graduates can work as specialists for Austrian as well as international companies in the field of semiconductor industry (foundries, fabless foundries, and engineering companies) as well as for businesses providing system solutions which products contain highly integrated electronic components.

Their fields of activities include the:

  • design
  • modeling
  • verification
  • implementation
  • testing and
  • technical support

of analog, digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Their activities also include the application support (e.g. PCB design), as well as test and product engineering.

What our students say

“I had just finished my bachelor and I wanted a master that was having a good deal of practice incorporated in the everyday lectures, which is exactly what FH Kärnten provides”. I came from a rather theoretical university and it was difficult to jump in the laboratories, but I had an amazing support of my class mates. We worked together in groups until everyone understood it. The professors were as well very patient and explained a topic many times if requested”.
